About Us

Communication is powerful, it’s how we express our wants, needs, and feelings. Communication is the very tool we use to advocate for ourselves and keep ourselves and the people around us safe. Everyone deserves to have a voice.

We are a boutique speech therapy clinic serving children and adults. Our mission is simple---to support the development of your child or loved one’s speech and language abilities through an individualized, evidenced-based approach.

We serve children from their first year of life through adulthood. Each session is individualized and provided by a therapist who is experienced, licensed and is passionate about empowering and enabling everyone they work with to realize their potential.

We want to support you on your journey.

Let’s connect!

Meet Nicole

From the very beginning, I always knew I wanted to help people in some capacity. I’ve also always had a love for language and found it fascinating how we connect through communication. My journey lead me to find the field of speech language pathology and I haven’t looked back.

I graduated from Midwestern University in the beautiful state of Arizona with my masters degree. I’ve had the opportunity to present at state conferences, provide training and support to other therapists, and have conducted research.

I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing clients and their families, as well as other professionals. I’ve worked in lots of settings including, but not limited to, schools, home healthcare, skilled nursing facilities, and long-term neuro-rehabilitaton facilities, and private practice.

When it comes to speech and language therapy there isn’t a “one-size fits all” approach. It just doesn’t exist. Everyone is different. For people with communication disorders, I’ve found as a therapist I have to think outside of the box. I love to use my creativity along with evidence-based treatment methods to provide functional and individualized sessions. The goal? To help people communicate candidly with the people that matter most. After all, that’s what life’s about.

I love working with people of all backgrounds. I love learning new things. In my free time I enjoy the arts, traveling, spending time with my husband and our furry friend, as well as, family and friends.

The best part of being a speech language pathologist?

Making connections with people. Using my training to support others and give them a voice to be their most authentic selves.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have questions…
we have answers.

  • I think my child/loved one needs speech therapy. What should I do?

Reach out to us. Let’s discuss your concerns. From there we can help determine whether a formal screening or an evaluation is needed and a course of action. Feel free to refer to Our Process for more information.

  • What does a therapy session look like?

Good question! Therapy sessions vary from play-based to more structured depending on the client. For our little ones, a play-based approach is generally used. For older clients, we may opt for a more structured session. It just dependents on what our clients need. We incorporate your child/loved one’s interests into therapy sessions. We also like to incorporate breaks, incentives, and mindfulness techniques. Our aim is to work hard and have fun!

  • How long will my child/loved one need speech therapy?

The short answer—it depends. Determining the length of treatment can be complicated and depends on a variety of factors. Some may meet their speech and language goals rather quickly, while others may require speech therapy for a much longer period of time. Throughout the therapy process we will assess, monitor, and discuss progress, along with your child/loved one’s needs to determine the best course of action.

  • Do you take insurance?

Candid Speech Therapy is an out-of-network provider. We do not bill insurance directly, however, a superbill containing service information and the applicable medical codes can be provided upon request to submit to your health insurance provider for possible reimbursement. We strongly encourage you to check coverage for service prior to beginning services, should you be interested in seeking reimbursement.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept the following forms of payment:

    Credit and debit cards

    Apple Pay

    Paypal

    Venmo

    Class Wallet/Empowerment Scholarship Account funds

Speech and language therapy services can oftentimes be paid for using your flexible spending account (FSA) or healthcare savings account (HSA.). Payment is due at the time of service.
